It didn’t feel like all that long ago that the season had just started and just like that its all over for another year. Both grades of football had improved seasons results compared to the previous two seasons. The Seniors ended up in eighth position with three wins and the Reserves just missed finals finishing in six with seven wins. Senior coach Tony Giardina in his ninth season at the helm needed all his experience to guide a young Demon outfit through the rigors of Mid Gippy footy. The improvement throughout the season was clear to see and Coach Giardina will be eager to add more quality in certain positions for a finals push in 2020. Rookie Boolarra Reserves coach and former Premiership player Damian Smith molded a diverse group of players into a team that on their day could compete with the best. His no nonsense approach was well received in the group and with one more win would have been playing finals.
The Club is very pleased to announce that both coaches have been reappointed for the 2020 season.
Unfortunately at the beginning of the year we had to pull our Thirds out of the competition due to not having enough numbers. It is with great excitement that we can announce we have appointed co- coaches for the Thirds in 2020. Senior players Nick O’Connor and Jesse Giardina have taken on the big task of getting a team back on the park and with a full club effort we are confident we can do it. The Club will leave no stone unturned in a bid to get junior football back to Boolarra but we need everyone’s help in spreading the word and recruitment. There will be a big focus on enjoyment and mateship.
Thursday night meals have been an enormous success again this year thanks to the hard work of Jacqui Baker, Jean Beamish and the rest of the Kitchen crew. The Club could not be any happier or prouder of the job that these ladies do.
The Club recently held our Best and Fairest Vote counts with some very tight results in some grades. Congratulations to the winners!

We are always looking for more volunteers and helpers at the Club, we are a small community Club and rely on locals to fill roles. Please do not hesitate to come forward if you think you can fill a role at the Club. No matter how small. President Simon Buglisi is very eager to get more people into roles at the Club to ease the burden on long-serving volunteers that have taken on too much.
The Club can’t thank enough Junior Football Coaches Eddy Stanton and David Caldwell who have done a great job with Under 10’s and Under 12’s this season. The kids have really improved and the club is very proud of the work these guys and all the parents/volunteers have put in to get these teams up and going. The Club held a presentation night and disco which was well attended with the kids having an absolute ball. Keep up the good work! We strive to provide a great environment for the kids to be around and to build great friendships, which will secure the long term future of the Club.
We will be holding a whole club Family Fun Day/Meet the Coaches day on Sunday 24 November. More details will be posted on Facebook closer to the date but lock this day in on the calendar.
The Club would like to thank everyone that helped out this year in any capacity, we rely on volunteers to work hard to provide a place that people can play football and netball as well as a place to socialise. It takes a lot of these great people to do this and we are lucky we have many.
You can keep up to date with all club news via our Facebook page: ‘Boolarra Football Netball Club’.
The Boolarra Football Netball Club would like to thank their valued sponsors for Season 2019 and ask that you get behind and support these businesses as they support our community Club.
We are also always on the hunt for new sponsors. Darren Napier once again is leading the sponsorship drive, if you would like more information on packages don’t hesitate to contact Naps.
