News from Glory to the King – Dec. 2011

Christmas

At Glory to the King Christian Community we believe that Christmas Day should be for families. Therefore, there will be no service on Sunday 25th December. Instead, our Christmas service will be on Saturday 24th December at our normal service time of 4pm. All are invited to join us for a service of carols, Communion and the Word.

New Year

Would you like your home, family, business and life to be blessed in 2012? Much has been spoken against the coming year, with many people believing that it will be the end of the world, because it is the end of the Mayan calendar. (Hey, the calendar had to end somewhere!) We’re bucking the trend and pronouncing 2012 to be a year of blessing. We will hold a special “Blessing the Year” service at 4pm on Sunday 1st January at which we will pray blessings over our community in general and specifically over any individuals who would like us to pray for them.

The Quiet Place

Please note that The Quiet Place will be closed from Wednesday 21st December until Wednesday 4th January. At other times The Quiet Place is open between 1pm and 4pm (approximately) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Old Scout Hall, Corner of Bastin Street and Young Street. You are welcome to drop in for a time of quiet prayer or reading or just to share a ‘cuppa’ with us.

Prayer Requests

We believe in a God who loves to answer our prayers and we would love to pray for you. We now have a ‘mail box’ at the hall for prayer requests. Just write out your prayer request with your first name and drop it in the box and we will uphold you before the Lord.
