Boolarra  Memorial Hall Inc. – Dec. 2011

The Hall has experienced quite a busy year with many bookings for workshops on a regular basis, as well as our regular hirers. As this edition of The Boolarra Link goes out we will be in the middle of obtaining more acoustic panelling to go on the internal brick walls to improve the sound quality in the Hall. The quilt made by local community people after the bushfire now has a permanent home in the Hall in its own specially built cabinet on the stage area.

The Hall Committee hope to have some much needed maintenance carried out shortly on the building. This includes things such as cleaning the outside and the gutters, some painting and erection of the 5 panel train mural on the external kitchen wall.

We now have a very well equipped kitchen suitable for most catering occasions. If we haven’t got any specific catering requirement we will endeavour to purchase it.  If you have any other ideas as to “extras” for the Hall we are open to suggestions.

We are a small but dedicated Committee who welcome new members. Our meetings are usually once every two months at 7.30pm on the third Thursday of the month. Once again the Hall Committee thank Bill Armstrong for his hard work during the year with the mowing and gardening. The Hall gardens always look great. This year the roses are fantastic. Stop and have a look.

Bookings: Please ensure that you write your booking in the book at the Top Shop. If it is a major function, then also mark in setting up on the day/evening before. There is no extra charge for this.
